Dr.Web for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 is an anti-virus plug-in designed on the basis of the latest and most advanced antivirus technologies of Doctor Web to protect corporate mail systems against viruses and spam . It flexibly integrates into the system and processes each message and attachment dispatched to the server.
Dr.Web for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 performs the following functions:
| • | Scan all incoming and outgoing messages in real-time mode |
| • | Filter and block spam, use manually compiled black and white lists of addresses |
| • | Isolate infected and suspicious objects to the Quarantine |
| • | Filter e-mail messages according to various criteria |
| • | Add accompanying text to outgoing external messages |
| • | Group clients to simplify their management |
| • | Send notifications on virus events and log them |
| • | Distribute reports on the operation of the plug-in |
| • | Automatically update virus databases and components of the plug-in |
New Features in This Release
| • | Support of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. Now the e-mail messages are processed by Dr.Web for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 transport agents of different functionality on all stages of SMTP-transport. The check for viruses and spam can be performed on transport level as well as on the level of VSAPI 2.6. |
| • | Support Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 server roles. The application Dr.Web for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 5.00.0 can be installed on the servers with different roles within the Exchange Server 2007 organization, that allows to set up the optimal security level. |
| • | New opportunities for managing the Quarantine. Now the objects in Quarantine can be rescanned and the threats can be neutralized after updating the virus databases. |
Resolved Issues and Enhancements
This section contains a list of changes and some of the bugs and issues which have been fixed.
| • | The installation bugs such as errors occurring at components and services registration and services run errors are fixed. |
| • | The bugs resulting in abnormal termination of the program and/or Exchange services are fixed. The application operation with transport agents is enhanced. |
| • | The application operation with Active Directory is enhanced. |
| • | The bug resulting in messages processing suspension during AD groups updating is fixed. |
| • | Bug-fixes and program code improvements resulted in higher stability and better performance of the plug-in. |
Known Issues
This section contains a list of known bugs and issues which have not yet been fixed.
| • | The unstable and incorrect program operation on virtual machines VMWare is possible. |
| • | Administration console cannot be installed on non-server operating systems. |
| • | Empty reports may be received when the query for report creation coincides with addressing to the Quarantine database, most probably in case of high load caused by scanning and database records intensity. |

Notes
Client MAPI libraries are not included into the installation package of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, as well as the MS Collaboration Data Objects library. That is why for correct operation of Dr.Web for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 notifications and reports under Windows Server 2003 and 2008 you need to install the package Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects.
Installation of Dr.Web for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 5.00.0
To install Dr.Web for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 5.00.0:
| 1. | If another version of Dr.Web for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 or other anti-virus software is already installed on the computer it is necessary to uninstall it using the installation file or standard tools of the OS. |
| 2. | Extract the Dr.Web for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 installation file drweb-exchange-2007-en.msi to a folder on the local drive of the Exchange server. |
| 3. | Run the Dr.Web for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 installation file. The InstallShield Wizard will open on the first window of the installation process. Click Next to continue. |
| 4. | A window with the text of the License Agreement will open. To continue installation you should read and accept the license by selecting I accept the terms in the license agreement. Click Next. |
| 5. | Choose the type of installation by selecting Complete or Custom. Click Next. If you chose Custom installation then a window for selecting the components you wish to be installed will open. Make the necessary changes and click Next. If you chose Complete then just move on to the next step. |
| 6. | In the License key file window specify the path to a valid Dr.Web key file and click Next. |
| 7. | Specify the e-mail address and password of the user account which will be used to run Dr.Web for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. Notifications will be sent from this address. This e-mail address should be the Default one for the account and the same as User Principal Name (UPN), while the domain suffix should not be the alternative one for the account. Click Next. |
| 8. | Specify the e-mail address of the server administrator. Notifications will be sent to this address. Click Next. |
| 9. | Click the Install button to begin installation of Dr.Web for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 on your computer. |
| 10. | Further actions of the InstallShield Wizard do not require user interference. Once the installation is complete, click Finish. |
